Navarathna Kuruma Derived from the name Navarathna ie, 9 jewels.In this Kuruma 9 vegetables including fruits and nuts can be used to make a delicious dish.
I used what ever i had at home but i leave the imagination to your creativity.
Try this dish and enjoy it with Hot Rotis or parathas.

Ingredients:

Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 2 tsp
Onion - 1 small size ,sliced
Green Chillies -2
Tomato - 1 ,diced
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Curry Leaf - 1 sprig
Cauliflower Florets - 2 cups
Red Bell Pepper - 1 cup diced in cubes
Green Bell Pepper - 1 cup Diced in cubes
Carrot - 1, med size
Peas - 1 cup

Corn Kernels - 1 Cup
Paneer - 2 cups sauteed and cubed 
Cashews - 2 tbsp
Raisins - 2 tbsp
coriander Leaf - To garnish

You can add other ingredients available at home like french beans , potato, garbanzo beans, soya nuggets, pista , pineapple , apple , pomegranate seeds , pears to make 9 vegetables or fruits or nuts to the dish.

To Grind:

Coconut - 4 tbsp
Cloves - 4
Cardamom - 3
Cashew - 1 tbsp
Poppy seeds - 1 tsp
Cinnamon stick - 1/2 stick

Grind all these to a smooth paste and keep it ready.

Method:


  1. Heat a pan ,add oil.
  2. Then add mustard seeds.Once they splutter add onions and green chillies.Saute it.
  3. Once they are translucent add Ginger Garlic Paste and curry leaf.Saute them very well.
  4. Then add all vegetables except peppers and dry fruits and nuts starting from hard vegetables at first and then the quick cooking one later.Add extra water if needed and cook till they are almost fully cooked.
  5. Then add Paneer.
  6. Then add ground masala.
  7. Then in separate pan add little oil and grill peppers till they get some color and are grilled enough ,then add it to the gravy along with cashews and dry fruits. Do a taste check and add salt as needed.
  8. Cover and let it cook in low flame for 5 min,
  9. Garnish with coriander leaf.
  10. Serve with chapathi.
