Lasooni Dal / Garlicky Lentils
When I was going through my recipes blog i am surprised that I have not yet posted one of my favorite dal recipe.This is Lassoni Dal in hindi ,which is called Garlicky dal.Today I made this dal recipe to go along with baatti.This dal is enriched with garlic flavour and the flavour is so subtle and warming. Apart from that garlic is one of the very healthy vegetables which has to be in our daily food consumption routine.The combination of dal and garlic with extra spicy ness from dry red chilly makes this recipe extremely tasty.Try this recipe with roti, rice, pulkas, poori.So here is the dal recipe...
Ingredients:
Masoor Dal - 1/2 cup
Moong Dal -1/2 cup
Garlic - 10 cloves chopped finely

Spinach - 2 cups finely chopped
Coconut oil - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric pd - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as needed
Curry leaf - 1 sprig
Hing - a pinch
Dry red chillies - 5 or more as needed

Method:
1.Clean and wash lentils and add 3 cups of water and add dry red chillies , 1/4 tsp of turmeric pd and hing and let it come to boil, then lower the flame to as low as possible and cover and cook for 20 min till dal is tender.2.In a kadal add oil then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, hing, turmeric pd and add garlic and saute till garlic is very light brown and then add spinach and saute it till spinach is cooked thoroughly.
3.Add this to dal and check salt for seasoning and add if needed.
4.Serve it hot with rotis , rice or even baati's and enjoy it with a pickle.
