Gotsu Podi/Powder

Hey friends I already gave you my word that I will post Gotsu recipe. This powder is the basis of any gotsu recipe. If you have this gotsu Podi you can make varieties of gotsu like brinjal gotsu, okra gotsu, yam gotsu, onion gotsu or even plain gotsu.Gotsu is a gravy that is similar to sambar but with no lentils and usual accompanied along with venpongal. 

Not only gotsu you can use this powder to sprinkle on top of lot of poriyal(vegetable fry) to give an excellent flavour.In this gotsu recipe main flavour comes from sesame seeds, especially I like extra sesame flavour so i added extra 2 tablespoons but you can add according to your likeness.So enjoy this gotsu recipe. ..

Ingredients :

Channa dal - 2 tbsp
Urad dal - 2 tbsp
Coriander seeds - 3 tbsp
Dry Red chillies - 5 to 10 , according to spice level you want
Sesame seeds - 4 tbsp
Fenugreek seeds - 5 no

Method:

1.Dry roast sesame seeds separately and grind it separately to a fine powder in a blender once it's cooled down.

2.Then roast channa dal, urad dal , coriander seeds, red dry chillies, fenugreek seeds with a tsp of coconut oil till they release aroma.

3.Switch off and transfer to a blender and let it cool , then grind it in a fine powder.
4.Finally mix sesame seed powder and the ground powder and 'TaDa' gotsu powder is ready.
5.Gotsu podi can be used to make gotsu and can be had with ven pongal.
