Ulunthu Kanchi (Black Gram Congee) & Thuvayal


Ulunthu Kanchi

Ingredients:

Rice - 1 Cup
Split Urad Dhal - 1/4 cup
water - 3 cups
Coconut Shredded - 1/4 cup

Method:


In a pressure cooker , take all ingredients and pressure cook it for 5 whistles.
Wait till pressure is released and open lid.
Mix it well and add salt as needed and water too and make it to a porridge consistency.

Thuvayal

Ingredients:


Coconut Thuvayal 
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Garlic - 1/2 clove
Chilly Pd - 1 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
water -1/4 cup

Method:


Grind it all in a blender to a slight coarse paste by adding 2 tbsp to 1/4 cup of water.
Thuvayal is ready to serve with Dosa , Idly , Kanchi.
