Carrot - 2 large ,peeled and shredded
Beetroot - 1 medium , Peeled and Shredded
Green chillies - 3 slit
Curry leaf - 1 sprig
Chana dhal - 1/4 cup ,soaked in water
salt - as needed
oil - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dhal - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
1.Boil channa dhal in 1 cup water till they are cooked . (When you crush channa dhal between two fingers it should mash it up easily.Cook till that consistency.Drain and Use the water to make rasam,which goes extremely well with thus poriyal.
2.In a kadai add oil and add mustard seeds, Urad dhal ,curry leaf and green chillies.
3.Then add shreaded carrot and beet root and salt.
4.Saute it for 10 min and add channa dhal and mix well and heat it up for 5 min.Switch off flame.
5.Finally add Garam Masala and lemon juice and mix well and serve with rasam rice.
