Shredded Carrot - 6 cups
Green Chillies - 5 slit
Moong dhal soaked in water for 15 min - 1/4 cup or more if you prefer a lot more dhal in your recipe
Salt -as needed
Coconut Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Asafoetida/ Hing - a pinch
Turmeric Pd - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaf - 1 sprig
1.Cook dhal in 1/2 cup water till they are half cooked,when you smash dhal between two fingers it should smash but it should remain it's shape after cooked.
2.Take a big pan add oil ,then mustard seeds, curry leaf and hing.
3.Then add carrot, green chillies, salt,turmeric pd and give it a stir.
4.Cover and cook for 15 min in medium low flame and then open lid and give it a stir.
5.Check salt and doneness, if it needs more cooking cover and do so.
6.Finally add cooked dhal and give it a mix and Serve with dhal Rasam and white rice.
