Ingredients:

For Masala:


Dry red chillies - 5 to 6 no
Fenugreek Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Seeds - 1 tsp
Black Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Poppy seeds - 1 tsp
Sliced Ginger - 1 tbsp
Oil - 1 tsp

Method:

Saute all these ingredients with oil until they are light brown and grind it to a fine paste in a blender by adding 1/2 cup of water.

For Curry:


Gingely Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Black Gram Dhal - 1 tsp

Garlic Cloves - 1 cup
Onions sliced / Pear Onions - 1 cup
Tamarind - 1 tsp
salt

Method:


Heat a kadai and add oil ,then add mustard seeds ,once they splutter add curry leaves ,garlic ,onions and saute till garlic is translucent.
Then add masala we ground and add tamarind paste.
Add 1/2 cup water if necessary and add salt.
Let it come to boil.
Serve with hot white rice.
